Unlock Collaborative Funding Across the GW4 Network

Join colleagues from across the GW4 Alliance (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, and Exeter Universities) for the GW4 Lymph Node Research Consortium Away Day, dedicated to building competitive, high-impact grant and fellowship applications in immunology, infection, inflammation, immunisation, immunotherapy and translational research.

Whether you are preparing your first fellowship application or assembling a multi-centre programme grant, this interactive workshop brings together clinical, academic, and NHS partners to refine research ideas, establish interdisciplinary collaborations, and gain direct feedback from experienced funding leads.

Who Should Attend?

  • Mid-Career Researchers (MCRs): Scaling to independent project and consortium-led funding.
  • Senior Researchers & PIs: Building collaborative networks for large programme grants and multi-site trials.
  • NHS Partners & Clinical Academics: Embedding translational pipelines, sample access, and clinical governance into joint bids across GW4 institutions.
  • Radiologists & Radiographers: Imaging specialists and clinical teams looking to embed ultrasound protocols, imaging-guided sampling (FNA/biopsy), and radiological expertise into collaborative research proposals.
  • Industry & Commercial Partners: Biotech, diagnostic, and pharma collaborators seeking joint grant opportunities, academic co-development, and translational partnerships.

What the Day Covers

  • Strategic Bid Development: Deconstructing successful UKRI, NIHR, and biomedical charity funding applications.
  • Consortium Brainstorming & Sandbox Sessions: Pitching ideas, identifying co-investigators, and leveraging shared GW4 platforms.
  • Peer & Mentor Review: Constructive feedback on project summaries, aims, and fellowship narrative development.
